Hot Numbers

Also known as the most common or most drawn numbers, the Hot Numbers for France Lotto are updated here after each draw has taken place. All previous draws are analysed and the five main numbers that have been drawn the most are displayed.

  • 6

Using Hot Numbers as a way of choosing numbers for a lottery ticket is very common and, as such, if you were to win a jackpot using the entire combination shown here, there is a chance others will have played the same numbers and the prize may be split.

Cold Numbers

Cold Numbers are the opposite of Hot Numbers - they are the France Lotto numbers that are most overdue to be drawn (also known as the least common numbers). The numbers below are updated after each draw has taken place and the numbers analysed.

  • 14
  • 18
  • 42
  • 47
  • 2
  • 44

Some players like to use a combination of Hot and Cold numbers when making their number selections, while some like to choose them all from the same pool. Either way, these numbers automatically get updated following each draw, so be sure to check back regularly.

How to win the France Lotto

Whether you're playing the Lotto game (also known as Loto) in France or you're betting from South Africa, the way that you win a prize is essentially the same.

To win one of the 10 divisions available, you first need to select five numbers from 1-49 plus an extra Bonus number (also known as Chance number) from a separate pool of 1-10.

To hit the Div. 1 jackpot, you need to match all five main numbers plus the bonus number. The odds of doing this are around 1 in 19 million. Take a look at the full prize division table below, with the best odds of winning shown first.

France Lotto Prize Divisions
Division Matched Numbers Odds of Winning Allocated percentage of prize pool
10 2 main numbers 1 in 16 49.22%
9 0 main numbers + Bonus number 1 in 18 €2.20 (fixed amount)
8 1 main number + Bonus number 1 in 28 €2.20 (fixed amount)

1 5 main numbers + Bonus number 1 in 19,068,840 Jackpot (Variable)
Your approximate chances of winning a prize in the France Lotto are 1 in 5.99.

How France Lotto Works

A traditional style lottery game, Lotto is the popular national lottery game in France that offers jackpots of at least €2 million every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

If no players manage to match the entire winning combination for the Div. 1 prize in a specific draw, the prize fund will roll over and increase for the next draw.

French players also have the additional “Raffle” style game to play for, in which 10 codes worth €20,000 are awarded in each drawing. This option is not available for players betting on the game internationally.

In the draw, five numbers are extracted from the main drum, followed by an extra bonus ball from a second machine. Combined, these make up the winning results for that draw.

France Lotto Plus

After each draw has taken place, the France Lotto Plus draw takes place. In France, the game is known as the “2nd Tirage”.

The game is essentially a 2nd chance game. When you purchase a ticket in France, you can opt in to the Plus draw for an extra fee. Your numbers are then automatically entered into the 2nd draw, meaning you have two sets of results to check and even more chances of winning.

The Div. 1 and Div. 4 prizes in the French Lotto Plus are fixed amounts, so you always know what you’re playing for. Div. 2 and Div. 3 prizes are pari-mutuel, which means the prizes are calculated based on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners in each division.

France Lotto Plus Prize Divisions
Division Matched Numbers Odds of Winning Prize Amount (EUR)
4 2 main numbers 1 in 14 €3.00
3 3 main numbers 1 in 202 €30.00
2 4 main numbers 1 in 8,668 €500.00
1 5 main numbers 1 in 1,906,884 €100,000.00

Special Draws

Throughout the year, multiple special draws take place in the France Lotto game. Typically they offer a boosted jackpot significantly above levels usually offered in the game.

When these draws are held, it often means that the Lotto Plus draw does not take place on that date.

Special draws are often held to celebrate the following events:

  • Valentine's Day
  • Easter
  • Mother’s Day
  • National Day
  • Mission Patrimoine
  • Friday 13th
  • Christmas
  • New Year

These draws are often held outside of normal Lotto draw days, such as on Tuesdays and Fridays. They do not interrupt the normal schedule of draws.
